Autodesk to host Experience the Possibilities Tour

Experience your next project – even before it is created in the real world. Autodesk will showcase its 2008 family of products in eight cities across Canada, allowing design professionals to question Autodesk experts on new functions and smart applications that improve productivity, reduce errors, and save time.

10th Annual Sustainable Building Symposium: Edmonton and Calgary

The annual Sustainable Building Symposium is Alberta’s premier design and construction industry event focusing on sustainable building issues. Keynote addresses and practical case studies for architects, designers, builders, building owners and operators, and planners support the 2007 theme, “Sustainable Design: Solving Climate Change Challenges of the Built Environment.” Hosted by the Alberta Chapter, Canada Green Building Council;

LIGHTPOINT® CANADA lighting courses set for 2007

OSRAM SYLVANIA, a leading lighting products manufacturer, has announced its 2007 education courses that offer everything from basic theories of light and colour, to detailed explanations of the technology behind lighting systems. Two new courses include a Retail/Hospitality Lighting Workshop” and an “LED Lighting Application Workshop” There is also a new online L.C. exam study workshop. The courses will be held at the 8,000sf  LIGHTPOINT Canada, a state-of-the-art educational facility.

Courses in 2007 include: Lighting Essentials, April 2 – 4, Nov. 19 – 21; Lighting Design and Application, June 11 – 13; Retail/Hospitality Lighting Workshop, Sept. 24 – 26; LED Lighting Application Workshop, June 14 – 15; Study Workshop – Live Online Course, Sept.13 – Oct.25. Course fees of $250 to $300 cover materials and meals.

 

Cascadia Green Building Chapter launches the ‘Living Future’ competition

The Vancouver-Seattle Cascadia Region Green Building Council and Paladino & Company Inc.   will launch the Living Future competition – hosted in conjunction with the AIA Seattle Committee on the Environment (COTE) What Makes it GREEN? event at Living Future 07 at Seattle Center, April 25-27, 2007.

Cash prizes (practicing professionals - winner $3,500, runner-up $1,500 and students/Emerging Green Builders - winner $1,000, runner-up $500) will be awarded to the applicant teams from within OR, WA, ID, MT, BC or AK whose entries reflect true sustainability.  Information: angie@cascadiagbc.org, [206] 223-2028.
